That's why I worry about these protectionists who insist we must export physical manufactures, like cars.
In a downturn, you can't cut back much on food or heating, but postponing that next car purchase is a no-brainer. So it's not really surprising that sales are down 90% or whatever. We, as a society, could probably go for three or four years without a single new car being purchased.
